This installer provides all the pre-requisites for Open Rails and an uninstaller too.
Download OR v0.9 (but install pre-requisites separately)

Open Rails does not have to be installed and multiple versions can co-exist in different folders too. See installation guides below.

This code is still very much under development. As a result, you may find that Open Rails does not properly load or display all your content and there are still some features missing and incomplete. Remember, all development of Open Rails is done by volunteers in their free time, so please be patient while we build the best train simulator we can.

  1. Microsoft Train Simulator Installed
  2. Install XNA Framework 3.1 Redistributable
  3. Install NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 Redistributable
  4. Open Rails compiled "Ready to Run" version

System Requirements

  1. Operating System - Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (32bit or 64bit)
  2. Processor - 2.0 GHz or faster
  3. Memory - 512 MB system RAM; Recommended 1GB+
  4. Graphics - 128MB video RAM with Pixel Shader 2.0;
    Recommended 256MB dedicated video RAM with Pixel Shader 3.0
  5. DirectX® - version 9.0c
  6. Hard Drive - 40MB in addition to your MSTS installation
  7. Sound - DirectX® 9.0c compatible
